The Thunderbird 80 cu ft Aluminum Cylinder is a great choice for your next scuba tank. Equipped with the XS Scuba Pro Valve and your choice of 10 different colors from natural finish to candy red, there is a tank for everyone.

The Thunderbird 80 cu ft Aluminum Cylinder are made from 6061 alloy, an aluminum magnesium-silicon blend that improves durability and performance. Thunderbird Cylinders are the world's first aluminum scuba cylinders, developed in cooperation with Jacques Cousteau at their facility in Graham, North Carolina. With unmatched expertise, that legacy continues there at Thunderbird. Benefits of all that tried and tested, continued development are improved fracture toughness, resistance to tearing and cracking, corrosion-resistant interior and exteriors. The Thunderbird 80 cu ft Aluminum Cylinders are made to U.S. DOT and Transport Canada standards and every cylinder is inspected and tested by DOT- and TC- authorized independent agencies. There's no doubt to the reliability and durability with DOT and TC requirements tested in excess of 10,000 cycles at test pressures with a minimum burst pressure tested to 2.5 times service.

Service pressure of the Thunderbird 80 cu ft Aluminum Cylinder is 3000 psi / 207 bar with a try capacity of 77.4 cu ft / 11.1 liters. The empty weight of the Thunderbird 80 cu ft Aluminum Cylinder with no valve is 31.5 lbs / 14.3 kg. Outside diameter is 7.25 in / 184 mm and cylinder length with no valve is 26.1 in / 662 mm.

Buoyancy of the Thunderbird 80 cu ft Aluminum Cylinder when completely full is -1.7 lbs / -0.8 kg and gradually increases 5.1 lbs as the pressure decreases down to 500 psi with a total buoyancy of 3.4 lbs / 1.54 kg.

The Thunderbird 80 cu ft Aluminum Cylinder are cleaned for oxygen and oxygen-enriched service at the factory. If you intend to use this cylinder for oxygen or oxygen-enriched service (ie. with any gas combinations of 23.5% or more), all components with the cylinder must be oxygen compatible. It is the responsibility of the cylinder user to ensure that the cylinder and all components are maintained in proper state of oxygen cleanliness in strict accordance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

The Thunderbird 80 cu ft Aluminum Cylinder has 10 different color choices to choose from. Those colors are Black, Brushed No Coat, Blue, Green, Natural Finish, Purple, Red, Shot Blast, White and Yellow.

All cylinders ship with the freshest possible hydro date. Limited in some models and colors because of high manufacturing quantities and relatively low sales volume. Please understand that aluminum cylinders within 12 month of manufacture date are considered current hydro and not subject to discount.

Every Thunderbird 80 cu ft Aluminum Cylinder comes with a XS Scuba Pro Valve allowing the use of both standard yoke or DIN. The a spin-out DIN insert the valve converts from standard yoke to 230 bar DIN Outlet. The 3/4"-14 NPSM standard inlet threads match with the Thunderbird 80 cu ft Aluminum Cylinders. The XS Scuba Pro Valve is cleaned for pre-blended Nitrox up to 40% oxygen. Equipped with the color indicating handwheel, it's easy to see whether the tank is on or off and with only a 1.5 rotation you can turn the tank fully on or fully off.
