Ask Joe & Larry

So which Mask should I get?? |
Larry:   When it comes to a mask, there is no best mask. There are differences, and you need to decide what features or functions you want, then get the one that works for you. I like the little side windows, on a mask. You can't see too good out of them, but you can pick up motion from the sides. Handy to keep an eye on a buddy, or get a quick glimpse of a Great White before he has dinner.
My biggest problem with a mask is my nose... No one has ever called it petite. And a lot of masks end up hitting the bridge of my nose unless there is a good bit of room in there. (Like a living room). This kinda rules out the single front pane masks for me. They have plastic that runs over the bridge of the nose, and it has a tendency of hitting me there. A double pane front mask normally is cut up high in front and it fits me better. So I use the Splendive-IV mask.
This one seems to fit most everyone (except really small faces, or big pertruding forehead people) and it is one of our top sellers in the store. Also I refuse to wear a mask without one of those Soft Straps on it. I kinda have long hair, and I hate the way the standard straps pull it.

Joe: I use the Pano Geo mask since , as larry so delicately phrased it, "pertruding forehead" seems to be my problem. And I want to thank Larry for being kind. In person he normally utters the phrase, "Cro-Magnon Man" when I try on masks. Takes a lot of forehead to hold in all this brain!
Like Larry's mask, I've got the little side windows, and this mask has a lot of silocone at the top so it doesn't bump me there. And unlike Larry with his gigantuan nasal deformity, I have a perfectly sculpted nose so this mask fits fine.
Although it pains me to admit it, I'm in agreement with him on the soft strap thing. I don't have long (or much) hair but I still like the Soft Straps on a mask. The other thing is some good defog for them. So put some Seadrops on just before you jump in. Also when a mask is new - you want to first take it and scrub the inside of the lenses with some tooth paste - this gets off the film that gets on them during the manufacturing process. Only do that on the lenses that are glass though..
