Ask Joe & Larry

Ok, So what clips should I use?

Larry: For my gauges I like the BCQRLN1. It keeps my console close but I can pop the quick release and pack my reg in my Scubatoys reg bag.

As for my octo clip I use the BCOH2 it is quick and easy.

The one clip I love is the BCQR7... Right before I get out of the water I just clip my mask and fins to my bcd. It allows me to use TWO HANDS to climb up the ladder unlike some other people. I can't tell you how many fins Joe has lost.

Well I'm not a big fan of retractors. I like coil style lanyards like the CRL03. I have a yellow one attached to my DC-600 camera. This way I have the freedom to move my Camera around without the resistance of a retaractor, yet if I drop my camera it's still attached. That and they make a great yo-yo type toy.

Joe:
   You are a YO- YO.

Personally I like the retractor style clips. I have my Datamax computer hooked up to one. It allows me to look at my computer but when I want to use my compass to navigate I just pull the retractor. When I'm done just let go and it goes right back to my side. Who am I kidding the compass is just for looks... I couldn't navigate my way around a swimming pool even with directions!

I kinda like the minimal gear configuration and I use an Zeagle octo inflator, so no need for a clip.

As for the BCQR7 I'll have to agree with Larry. Although for everytime I lost a fin I just grabbed a new pair off the shelf (Thank you Larry) but I do use one now and it's so much easier to climb up the ladder.
