Ask Joe & Larry

Ok, there are a bunch of different little point and shoot cameras. Which is the best and why?
|
Larry: Well I've done quite a bit of UW Photography with lots of different gear from little point and shoot through Nikonos V systems. I've learned that it's more the photographer than the camera. I've seen one guy turn out great shots with a little cheapy and someone else with thousands of dollars worth of stuff not get a shot worth developing.
But things have changed!
Digital UW Cameras are the rage...
The digitals keep getting better and faster. My favorite now is the SeaLife 1200. This is a true 12 Megapixel digital with 5x optical zoom, and it will macro down to under an inch with no external lenses. Great little camera in a very nice housing - and while it's not cheap - it sure does take some nice shots!
For something a bit smaller, but in my tests, does nearly as good, hard to beat the new Mini II that SeaLife has. 9 Megapixel and no housing needed. Sweet!
 | Joe:No doubt... that is a nice camera. May just be the way it feels in my hand, as the specs are pretty close, but I slightly prefer the Sea and Sea over the SeaLife. But really, now I'm more into shooting video!
We carry a host of video housings and UW Video Setups so if you want to give that a shot, you can shoot video with most the new UW digitals, but for best results, let us know what video camera you have, and I can help you get into a housing for it.
